There's a bit more detail available in an article I wrote a while back: IT Pro Today - Working with IPv4 Addresses in PowerShell. Whitelist Robots by Search Engine | IP2Location
Genmask: The netmask for the destination net; 255.255.255.255 for a host destination and 0.0.0.0 for the default route. It's called 'genmask' because it shows the 'generality' (i.e. the netmask) of the route.
The netmask is used to specify the IP range a 'network' starts and stops at. This range is arbitrary. For example, with the IP address 192.168.0.140: With the netmask of 255.255.255.0 (/24 in cidr notation) the IP range would be 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254.
Wildcard Mask Calculator . The ACL Wildcard Mask Calculator enables wildcard mask calculations using IP address and wildcard mask. Results of the wildcard mask calculation provide the first IP address and last IP address in the wildcard mask network range.
Term definitions. Wildcard: Inverse of netmask.Used by certain firewalls for access control list. Broadcast: IP broadcast addresses are used for single-packet one-to-everyone delivery.A sending host addresses the IP packet using a broadcast address and every node on the sending node's network segment receives and processes the packet. Free online IPv4 subnet calculator - adminsub.net The wildcard is the inverse netmask used for access control lists (ACL's) in Cisco routers. This free online IPv4 subnet calculator also can be used as a teaching tool and presents the subnetting results as easy-to-understand binary values. Create a random matrix A of order 500 that is constructed so that its condition number, cond(A), is 1e10, and its norm, norm(A), is 1.The exact solution x is a random vector of length 500, and the right side is b = A*x.
